Basic Education – Budget 2023-24         

▪️The government is determined to achieve the goal of Universal Elementary Education. About 2,23,712 government/non-government schools run under basic education in the state. Within a radius of one to three kilometers, a school is available.

▪️Provision of Rs 20, 255 crores for Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.

▪️Under Operation Kayakalp, a provision of Rs 1000 crore in the budget of the financial year 2023-2024 for the development of infrastructure facilities in primary and upper primary schools run by the Basic Education Council.

▪️With the help of the Central Government, a provision of Rs. 510 crore has been made for the implementation of a new scheme named PM SHRI (PM Schools for Rising India) in the state.

▪️Provision of Rs 300 crore for the new scheme of establishment of digital library at gram panchayat and ward level.

▪️Arrangement of Rs 50 crore for the distribution of free uniforms to about 28 lakh students above the poverty line.

▪️Arrangement of Rs 650 crore for free sweaters and shoes-socks to about 2 crore students of council’s primary and upper primary schools.

▪️Arrangement of Rs 350 crore for providing free school bags to the students of classes 1 to 8.

▪️Arrangement of Rs 11 crore for the operation and construction of primary and upper primary schools in Vantangia villages.

▪️Under the Right to Free and Compulsory Child Education Act – 2009, a provision of Rs 40 crore for admission to the children of disadvantaged groups and weaker sections in the financial year 2023-2024.

 Budget 2023-24

Secondary Education

▪️At present, 2357 government, 4512 non-government aided and 21,023 unaided, 27,892 secondary schools for general education and 2 government, 971 aided and 267 unaided, total 1240 schools for Sanskrit education are operated in the state.

▪️With the help of the Central Government, a provision of Rs 500 crore has been made for the implementation of a new scheme named  PM SHRI (PM Schools for Rising India) in the state.

▪️Provision of Rs 300 crore for the new scheme of establishment of digital library at gram panchayat and ward level.

▪️Arrangement of Rs 1,003 crore for running various programs under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.

▪️Arrangement of Rs.500 crore under Project Alankar scheme for the development of various infrastructure facilities in government secondary schools.

▪️Rs 100 crores budgetary provision for creation of assets of Sanskrit schools.

▪️A budgetary provision of Rs 10 crore for providing scholarships to students studying Sanskrit in secondary schools.

▪️Arrangement of Rs. 5 crore for reimbursement of fees of the second girl child of parents whose income is less than the prescribed income limit in self-financed schools.

 Budget 2023-24

Higher Education

▪️Presently 19 State Universities, 1 Open University, 1 Deemed University, 30 Private Universities, 172 Government Colleges, 331 Aided Non-Government Colleges and 7372 Self-Financed Colleges are operating in the state to fulfil the objectives of higher education.

▪️For the first time in the state, 11 universities have participated in the preparation of National Institutional Ranking. Four universities are participating in QIS ranking for world ranking

▪️Arrangement of Rs.50 crore for the establishment of Maa Vindhyavasini State University in Vindhyachal Dham Mandal.

▪️Provision of Rs.50 crore for the establishment of Maa Pateshwari Devi State University in Devipatan Mandal.

▪️Provision of Rs 50 crore for establishment of state university in Moradabad division.

▪️Rs 300 crore provision for establishment of digital library at gram panchayat and ward level.

 Budget 2023-24

Technical Education

▪️Diploma level 201 government institutions and 19 aided institutions, a total of 220 institutions are approved in the state, out of which training is being provided in 168 institutions. 52 State Polytechnics under construction / in the process of establishment

▪️At present, admission to students in 1372 private sector diploma level institutions. Including all the institutions, the total intake capacity is 2,23,779.

▪️For more employment to students and emerging technology based industry, teaching training in 04 courses under New Age Course has been started in 21 state polytechnics from 2022-23, in which admission capacity is 1575. 

▪️Provision of Rs.50 crore and Rs.33 crore for establishment of state polytechnics and infrastructure development respectively.

▪️Arrangement of Rs.1.50 crore for conducting classes in Government Engineering College, Gonda, Basti, Pratapgarh and Mirzapur.

▪️Provision of Rs 2 crore for renovation and maintenance of already constructed buildings in technical education schools/engineering institutes.

 Budget 2023-24

Vocational Education & Skill Development

▪️305 Government Industrial Training Institutes run in the state, in which 1,72,872 seats are available.12 government industrial training institutes for women run independently in the entire state.

▪️More than 2963 private industrial training institutes are operating in the entire state.

▪️With the participation of Tata Technologies Ltd., construction of modern workshops and classrooms started under the scheme of technical upgradation of 150 industrial training institutes in the state sector. The state government will bear the expenditure of Rs 477 crore for the construction of a workshop, training room etc. in an area of 10,000 square feet for the project. Provision of Rs 940 crore for the project in the budget of the financial year 2023-24. As a result of the project, about 30,000 students will be trained annually.

▪️Arrangement of Rs 150 crore for training program under Skill Development Mission.

▪️Arrangement of Rs 70 crore for the Chief Minister’s Apprenticeship Training Scheme.

▪️Budgetary provision of Rs 35 crore for upgradation of 29 Industrial Training Institutes under Centrally Sponsored Strive Scheme.
