Jab they met
Aayushi Gupta and Priam Sinha Roy’s story of love is rooted in a lifelong friendship starting from the tender age of 10. Working as engineers in prestigious firms today, the two became fast friends over school shenanigans and competing over grades from class 5. Although they went their separate ways when Priam and his family moved to the US, they never lost touch and rekindled their connection over adventure sports, pop culture and life goals when Aayushi moved to the States for her Post Graduation. The two had always wanted a life partner who would be their best friend too when they gradually realized that all this while, their soulmate had been right before them.

Wedding Planning
Aayushi shares, “Considering Priam and me are both first-born children on our respective sides, our families were understandably excited for the wedding and wanted to celebrate on a grand scale. My parents along with the very talented Poonam Mayank Sharma beautifully planned my nuptials that was brimming with dance, music, laughter and amazing food. Moreover, the entire thing was pulled off by a group of amazing women helmed by my mother, Poonam and her squad along with many other female vendors, which made the experience all the more special”.

Wedding Functions
Engagement
The festivities started on an intimate note with a magical poolside Engagement soiree. Pastel blooms, candles and fairy lights were used to contrast with the sleek metallic props and surrounding trees to create elegant corners and backdrops. The groom wore an earthy green Jodhpuri suit while the bride twirled in a dazzling peach gown.

Mehndi
Vibrant hues of orange and fuchsia took over the lush outdoor space as everyone geared up for a morning of Mehndi, music and merriment. The decor saw flowing drapes, baskets and vases of marigolds and other blooms interspersed with quirky Indian elements that included kites, tasseled canopies, painted kettles, traditional hangings and more. Mehndi artists arranged for everyone to get their hands painted with henna as they took in the lively ambience of music and dance. A favor cart of potlis was also arranged for guests to take home. The bride wore a Vasansi lehenga that matched the decor as she danced amidst puffs of colorful smoke.

Sangeet
The evening flowed into a mesmerizing Starry Night Sangeet that kept the momentum of the day going. The indoor venue was transformed into a whimsical “Night under the stars” with midnight blue décor and shimmering chandeliers. Crisscrossing fairy lights ran overhead reflecting on the glass dance floor for a magical effect. Guests were awed by the mystical feel of the evening from the moment they entered. The couple matched the mood with coordinated outfits of royal blue for a night of music and dance.

Wedding

The Wedding ceremony was a royal affair in red and white with the perfect blend of tradition and opulence. Rich floral arrangements of red roses and rajnigandhas decked the outdoor venue, accentuating the natural beauty of the space for a charming touch. Garlands of flowers and fairy lights descended from the grand tree that towered over the stunning mandap created with a canopy of white blooms and chandeliers wrapped in a halo of roses. The couple embodied royalty in a lehenga and sherwani for the Varmala before changing into traditional Bengali Wedding attire for the pheras duly honoring both their cultures.
