Tiktok to shut down his Indian Business

China’s company Bytedance has announced the shutting down of its Indian business. This announcement has been made by ByteDance after the talk of continuing the ban on the company’s services in the country. Bytedance is owned by Tiktok and Helo Apps. 

Venice Papas, the interim head of Tiktok’s global business, and Blake Chandley, vice president of Global Business Solutions, said in a joint letter to the company’s employees that the company was reducing the size of its team and that it would have an impact on all employees in India will get. 

A bytedance source said that the company organized a townhall on Wednesday, where the company announced the closure of its Indian business.

When contacted, a Tiktok spokesperson said that the company worked fast enough to comply with the Government of India’s order of June 29, 2020 and was continuously working to make its app compliant with Indian regulations.

The spokesman said that it is disappointing that despite efforts in the last seven months, we have not got clear guidelines about how and when our apps will be released.

He said, “We are hopeful that we will get a chance to relaunch TikTok and support crores of users, artists, story tellers, educators and performers.”
