A fairytale wedding at 2,500 Feet, witnessed by the majestic mountains

Set amidst the wild beauty of Uttarakhand, Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels in Jim Corbett was the perfect canvas for Jinal’s and Sarthak’s intercultural destination wedding. Designed to complement the majestic mountain views and Kosi River’s charm, the venue elevated the celebration that was planned and executed with great attention to detail by WeddingSutra Favorite  DB & Spaces .

Dakshita Bhatla of DB & Spaces says, “We wanted to craft an intimate mountain wedding that maximized the natural drama and architectural flow of the property.” The Jim Corbett property is located at 2,500 ft above sea level, amidst dense forests and river bends. With multi-level structures and panoramic views, the property offered an opportunity to design experiences that felt immersive and authentic to the couple’s love for nature.

Wedding Planning
Dakshita Bhatla of DB & Spaces says, “Planning a wedding in Jim Corbett was as much about logistics as it was about design. The terrain was challenging: winding roads, limited network coverage, and steep ascents made the venue choice and transportation logistics the foundation of our entire plan. This wasn’t just about getting people to the venue — it was about tackling the geography. We carefully selected luxury coaches with Wi-Fi, arranged specialized trucks for heavy decor, and smaller vehicles to carry materials up the slopes.”

Dakshita adds that it was also important to respect local forest laws (such as sound restrictions and timings), maximizing natural light and elevation, and creatively using architectural elements like the banquet hall’s exposed beams for the after-party décor. The core objective was to celebrate the coming together of Punjabi and Gujarati cultures through design that felt effortless, warm, and rooted in the land on which they stood.
Wedding Functions
Haldi
The Haldi, the first function, saw the guests coming together on the Sunset Deck. Framed by golden sunflowers, mountains, and a glimpse of the river, the celebration was meant to highlight the fusion of the two cultures. Both Punjabi and Gujarati rituals were conducted, and the bride and groom wore lavender to match the décor, creating a beautiful interplay of yellow and purple. White crochet umbrellas with intricate detailing, personalized for the wedding, offered guests shade.

Sangeet
The poolside sangeet, themed Bollywood, But Make it Candlelight, had filmy drama. The infinity pool was adorned with 1,000 floating candles, while marigold spheres created an explosion of color. A giant Bollywood-style chandelier was the perfect touch for this celebration, and the night kicked off with the lively beats of “Dil Le Gayi Kudi Gujarat Di” — a special nod to our Gujarati bride who was dazzling in a red saree.

The After Party, respecting Jim Corbett’s forest restrictions, was hosted indoors at the banquet hall, keeping the energy alive without disturbing the serene surroundings. Inside, fairy lights were wrapped around the beams, and the vibe turned black-tie chic, and the laughter didn’t stop until the sun came up.

Wedding
In the baraat, the guests had to climb to the top of the property, but the planning team worked hard to make the journey comfortable with chilled water, dry fruits, and beers to keep everyone refreshed.
The wedding mandap was designed to blend seamlessly with the mountain magic — simple, elegant, and powerful, featuring ivory tones and a floral shower.

The bride wanted to get married with the sun setting behind them, and the mandap was placed accordingly after a careful study of the sun’s movement at the property. With the mountain backdrop and the setting sun, every photo captured the couple with the sun at their backs as they exchanged vows.
