Under the able guidance of Prof. Soniya Nityanand, Director (Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow) and Vice Chancellor (KGMU), the Department of Dentistry at Dr RMLIMS in association with Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS) celebrated “National Orthodontic Day” on October 5th 2023.
Dean Dr RMLIMS, Prof. Pradyuman Singh, Chief guest of the day addressed the gathering and assured all that Dr RMLIMS is committed to fostering awareness and encourages everyone to take proactive steps towards achieving optimal oral health.
The event kickstarted with a presentation by Dr. Shally Mahajan, an Orthodontist and Professor, Department of Dentistry. She educated the masses about the importance of Orthodontics, different treatments available, importance of early treatments including myths related to the speciality. She also enlightened the individuals on a wide range of choices a patient can have ranging from traditional braces to modern clear aligners to suit their lifestyle and preferences.
The patients treated in the institute also shared their experiences on stage which was aimed to motivate the patients visiting the institute to prioritize their oral health and consider the transformative benefits of orthodontic treatment.
The contribution of Dr. Jyoti Jain, Dr. Padmanidhi Agrawal , residents of the department Dr. Babita Yadav, Dr. Sweta Mehta , Dr. Priyamvada, Dr.Priyam Awasthi, Dr.Alina, Dr Deepti, Dr.Prasansha, Mr Akhilendra (IT, Department) contributed to the success of the programme.
