This couple’s destination wedding in Jaipur made jaws drop with its impressive ivory-hued, lotus-inspired wedding mandap.

What started as a friendship at Columbia University in New York became a deep bond, culminating in Rupal Gupta and Tanmay Khandelwal’s breathtaking wedding at Rambagh Palace in Jaipur. For Rupal, who hails from Jaipur, tying the knot in the ‘Pink City’ was a dream come true. Designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Konark Events, the union flaunted a plethora of customised details tailored to the couple’s journey.

Wedding Planning
Set against the majestic backdrop of Rajasthan and brought to life by the finesse of Konark Events, every element of Rupal and Tanmay’s wedding décor was a testament to thoughtful artistry. Demonstrating the transformative power of design, this celebration stood out for its seamless blend of grandeur and personalization, proving that when curated with intent, every detail can elevate a wedding into an unforgettable experience. Himish Agarwal, the CEO and Creative Director of Konark Events, shares, “We wanted to create an experience that was not just visually stunning but also deeply personal to Rupal and Tanmay. The decor was a reflection of their journey, their roots, and their love for each other.”

Wedding Functions
Welcome Lunch and Mehndi
The celebrations commenced in July with a vibrant Welcome Lunch and Mehendi at the regal Maharani Mahal, themed ‘Rendezvous in Rajasthan’. A seamless fusion of traditional Rajasthani aesthetics and contemporary pastel hues set the stage for the festivities. The ‘Pastel Angan’ concept was accentuated with gleaming silver elements. Delicate block prints, ornate silver photo frames, and bespoke name cut-outs of the couple added a personal touch to the décor. Blooms, like anthuriums, were woven into the design, making the space feel nothing short of a dreamscape.

Sangeet
Himish Agarwal from Konark Events shares, “The Sangeet, Techno Beats, saw a vibrant colour palette of purple, blue, and black, with cutting-edge technology. Projection mapping, kinetic light effects, and holographic lamps transformed the hall into a futuristic wonderland. The outdoor dining area, encased in a transparent dome structure adorned with neon-coloured balls, was a particular highlight, offering a surreal experience under the stars.”

Haldi
Drawing inspiration from the couple’s shared love for New York’s bustling markets, the Haldi ceremony unfolded in a Farmer’s Market. “There were more than 13 stalls featuring rustic elements like flower pots, fruit carts, and green plantations. Guests could pick up Italian-inspired tote bags, personalized with the couple’s initials, and fill them with custom elements from the farmer’s market, including scented candles, organic foods, engraved coffee sippers, and more”, shares Himish. Rupal and Tanmay add, “This event was close to our hearts and our favourite one. We wanted our guests to experience something new and fresh, which would also remind us of how our journey began.”

Wedding
The couple tied the knot in a unique lotus mandap, surrounded by lush florals. The setting was serene with white and gold accents. “From the moment we shared our vision with Konark Events, we knew we could trust them to bring it to life. Every detail we envisioned was beautifully executed, with personalization taking on a new meaning. The team truly understood our dream and went above and beyond to make sure every element reflected our story. The entire experience felt seamless, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting for our special day,” shared Rupal.
