Palak Shah Weds Avnish Chhabria

CEO and Founder of Ekaya Banaras, Palak Shah and her entrepreneur beau Avnish Chhabria tied the knot at New Chandigarh surrounded by the beauty of nature. Keeping elegance and minimalism at the heart of her wedding wardrobe – the bride’s outfits were creative yet they looked perfectly in place at the idyllic location.

How They Met
Palak and Avnish first met through a common friend who played cupid. The couple’s first meetup was a spontaneous blind date which took place after a quick reshuffle of schedules on both ends. And, since then, the couple hasn’t looked back.

Wedding Planning
Hailing from a family that has more than a century been a part of the Indian textile industry, Palak was keen on making her wedding wardrobe stand out from the rest. And, while she did work with prominent designers across the country to curate her wardrobe, one thing remained common. All the fabrics were sourced from her own brand. With each ensemble custom-made as per the bride’s taste while celebrating the beauty of native Indian textiles, her wedding looks brim with inspiration!

Haldi
The poolside haldi called for a breezy outfit and Palak delivered as she donned a turmeric-hued sari from her own label. Lightweight and flowy, this outfit ensured the bride had plenty of legroom to play around and shake a leg!

Mehndi
First in line of the celebrations was a laidback mehndi where Palak took the less beaten path with a refreshing mint green bandhgala and dhoti set customized for her. Paired with chunky necklaces, stilettos and sunglasses – the bride looked ready to party!

Cocktail
High on the glamour quotient and keen on partying the night away, Palak chose to fuse comfort with style in a strapless gown. With a high-leg slit, the gown made heads turn as Palak accessorized her look with solitaire earrings and a jewel-encrusted watch.

Wedding
Dreamy, serene and stunning, Palak and Avnish’s big day resembled a fairytale with clouds of baby’s breath adorning the venue. In sync with an ivory colour palette of her surroundings, the bride wore a white lehenga with intricate thread work. Her makeup was minimalistic with kohl-rimmed eyes, fresh skin and a nude pout. Palak paired the look up with a statement maang tikka, kundan necklace and a gajra around her hair bun.
