Famous Cartoonist KC Shiv Shankar died at the age of 97, also known as Chanda Mama

After portraying the stories of Vikram Betal in Chanda Mama magazine, he gained a distinct identity across the country. In addition, he featured several cartoons. 

KC Shiv Shankar, the famous cartoonist, died in Chennai. He was 97 years old. He is also known as Chanda Mama. After portraying the stories of Vikram Betal in Chanda Mama magazine, he gained a distinct identity across the country. In addition, he featured several cartoons.

He contributed to the field of art for over 50 years. As soon as this sad news came, social media started paying tribute to him. Someone remembered his childhood days while someone said that Chanda Mama magazine used to be a part of his life. Everyone grew up reading this magazine from the 60s to the 90s.

Shiva Shankar was born in 1927. In 1934, he moved to Chennai with his mother and siblings, where he attended school. At a very young age, he won the hearts of school teachers with his artistry.

Chanda Mama was a popular monthly magazine focused on children and youth in which stories based on Indian folklore, mythological and historical events were published.
