Corona couldn’t stop or flush out the yearly teej celebrations. Hariyali Teej welcomes the monsoon season. The festival symbolizes the togetherness of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, the day when Lord Shiva accepted Goddess Parvati as his wife. The reason why Teej is also a symbol of love, respect & sacrifice.
As an effort and mode of celebration, Women of Wisdom (WOW) organised an online competiton called Awadh Teej Queen 2020 for the women’s of the city of Nawabs. This pageant encouraged women to bloom and celebrate with an extra oomph!
The festival is primarily celebrated by young girls and married women while singing, dancing, festive rituals and fasting for a good husband or long life of the husband respectively, but this time it was all about an extra kick.
“Awadh Teej Queen 2020” was organized in 5 categories whose winners are as follows:
a. Ambika Ghosh (Awadh Teej Queen 2020)
b. Khushboo (Best Makeup)
c. Komal (Best Mehendi)
d. Manyata (Best Hairstyle)
e. Pratibha (Best Dress)
Ladies participated with full enthusiasm and WOW made sure that the participants enjoys all the fun-filled online activities. We congratulate all the winners and wish them Happy Teej!
