Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurates International Conference of Chief Justices of the World

Lucknow, 22 November : The 25th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World, organized by City Montessori School, was grandly inaugurated this morning by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Brajesh Pathak graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The presence of over 200 Chief Justices, Judges and legal luminaries from 55 countries, including Presidents, Prime Ministers, Speakers of Parliaments and Judges of the International Court of Justice, added immense significance to the event. Convenor of the conference and CMS Manager, Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, extended a heartfelt welcome to the Chief Guest, Mr. Yogi Adityanath, Guest of Honour Mr. Brajesh Pathak and all the distinguished guests, including Chief Justices and eminent personalities from various nations. It is worth mentioning here that this historic conference is being organized from November 22 to 24 at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium.

Addressing the large gathering of legal luminaries on this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that first and foremost, I offer my heartfelt tributes to CMS Founder, late Dr. Jagdish Gandhi, who dedicated his entire life to establishing unity and peace in the world through education. This international conference is being held at a time when the Amrit Mahotsav year of the Constitution will begin from 26th November. Shri Yogi further stated that by embracing the spirit of Article 51 of the Indian Constitution, peaceful solutions to all problems can be found. I urge all the esteemed guests and heads of nations present here to contribute towards providing the future generations with a beautiful, clean, and fear-free society.

At the inaugural session, several notable dignitaries, including Presidents, Prime Ministers, and renowned judges from various countries, shared their insights. Esteemed speakers included Sir Rodney Errey Lawrence Williams, Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda; Ms. Katalin Novák, former President of Hungary; Dr. Pakalitha B. Mosisili, former Prime Minister of Lesotho; Justice Dalveer Bhandari, Judge of the International Court of Justice, Netherlands; and Justice Adel Omar Sherif, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Egypt. They strongly advocated for global unity, world peace, and effective international law.

Geeta Gandhi Kingdon shared the perspectives of the Chief Justices. She conveyed that the Chief Justices and legal luminaries believe that a World Government, World Parliament, and an Enforceable International Law are pivotal for establishing an ideal world order capable of addressing global challenges such as terrorism, illiteracy, unemployment, and environmental issues. The jurists emphasized that building a “secure future” for the young generations is a collective responsibility. Therefore, there is a pressing need for a system that promotes justice, unity, and peace across the world, eliminates wars, focuses on education, health, and medical care, and eradicates oppression and injustice against children.
Mr. Rishi Khanna, Head, Communications, CMS, informed that a grand “Welcome Ceremony” in honour of the esteemed dignitaries to be held today evening at 5.30 pm at CMS Kanpur Road Campus premises. Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Ms. Anupriya Patel, will be the Chief Guest, while Lucknow Mayor Mrs. Sushma Kharkwal will be the Guest of Honour. During this ceremony, Justice Dalveer Bhandari of the International Court of Justice, Netherlands, will be presented with the “Key to the City of Lucknow” as a mark of respect. Sir Rodney Errey Lawrence Williams, Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda, will be awarded the “Mahatma Gandhi Award for World Unity,” and Ms. Katalin Novák, former President of Hungary, will be honoured with the “Mother Teresa Award.”
